These pest control contractor guidelines have been drawn up with you, the consumer in mind.
- Ensure your Pest Control Professional is fully trained . Asking questions about the type of pesticides being used and how they work is a good way to judge their level of technical competence.
Pesticides are sometimes more harmful than the pests themselves!
Introducing pesticides into a home or business should be a last resort.
- Always ask for photo identification before allowing anyone onto your premises
- Check that your Pest control professional is fully insured. They should be able to produce Public and Employer liability Insurance to cover at least €1,000,0000 – If in doubt ask to see a copy of the insurance policy.
- Never leave a Pest Control Sales or Service Person alone on your premises for the first visit. Your premises is not familiar territory and your knowledge of hazards in your home or business will ensure an accident free visit.
- Always ensure that tamper resistant inspection points are used both indoors and outdoors. Lockable boxes should always be used outdoors.
- Find out how many treatments you will receive and what happens if the pest problem persists after the treatment period before you commit to an order.
- If you are a business customer, a site folder containing service reports and Material Safety Data Sheets should be left on site by your Pest control company.
