Early summer and late autumn tend to be the worst time for flies in attics. These flies look similar to blue bottles however they are commonly known as "cluster flies". They are not caused by your bio cycle waste unit.
Cluster flies are a very interesting insect.
They over-winter in attics and other dark premises like barns. In the Spring, they leave their winter lodgings to look for worms in your garden or farm. Once they have identified worms, they lay eggs IN the worm, the eggs pupate within the worm, feeding from the worm internally. They eventually emerge from the host worm as adult flies and hen the new offspring return to attics and barns that were once inhabited by their ancestors. It's the circle of life. The flies are completely harmless but can be a major nuisance. This is one pest problem that needs a professional to look at for best treatment method. Treating with normal fly sprays will not suffice as there is no residual effect. Hope this helps in identifying the problem Tom Emergency Pest Control Ireland
